“Why is a labrador puppy so expensive?”

Sick … I decided to write an article about the cost of Labrador puppies. When breeding, I come across many questions from buyers, and one of the most popular is why are puppies so expensive?

I perfectly understand people who want to have a Labrador, open Avito and see a price range of 10,000 to 40,000. We all come across a similar range of prices in our life when choosing any things, whether it’s food, household appliances, etc. But agree , the lowest price is not a determining criterion for our choice, because we think about quality, right? But for some reason, many people do not want to see that the quality problem fully applies to animals!
I open my messages in VKontakte, I don’t have to search for a long time, here’s a very familiar and often repeated question: “I really want to have a friend like a Labrador, but not for exhibitions and PR, but for the soul. It doesn’t matter if there are unplanned puppies, we are ready to purchase at a reasonable price. ”
Now I’ll tell you what I think when I read such letters ….
Here a man wants a Labrador, SIMPLY LABRADOR, not for exhibitions … And what Labrador does he want? You know, I have never met a person who would like to buy the likeness of a Labrador: tall on long thin legs, with a narrow head and long muzzle with bulging eyes, and even with a tail, a donut twisted on its back. I have no doubt that this person looks at pictures of beautiful dogs on the Internet and dreams of a beautiful labrador … with a beautiful head with a smart look … with a strong stocky body, with a good bones, with a thick otter tail … and so when you look at this no one doubted that this was a LABRADOR! I’m right? Dear friends, but with such a dog you can at least walk along the street with pride, at least go to exhibitions, this is your choice and your desire. The Labrador you imagine in your imagination is already suitable for exhibitions! Because he is a LABRADOR, and not his miserable likeness (which you do not want). And if you have such a dog, then it can, if not win, at least get good marks at exhibitions! Already for the fact that she is a typical representative of the breed!
And therefore, I do not believe people who sell puppies without a pedigree, explaining this by the fact that their mother is not an exhibition, they have it for their souls. Excuse me, but what is the difficulty of bringing a dog to the show and getting an assessment that will give the right to use the dog for breeding? Maybe this dog can’t even get a “very good” mark? Then this is not a labrador. Or a completely unsuccessful labrador. And what kind of puppies will she have?
Now about unplanned puppies …
Unscheduled puppies – this is a myth invented for the sale of mestizos! What are unplanned puppies? They didn’t plan a mating, but the female Labrador escaped and mated herself? Yes, it could be … But think for yourself, with whom will the runaway, flowing bitch bind on the street? Yes with anyone! They are trying to sell such puppies to you as “Labradors”, but from an unplanned mating!
Today, my friend, a labrador breeder, was visited by people who had been trying for a long time to figure out how puppies differ for 10 tr. from puppies for 30 tr , and told how they called on the announcement of the sale of puppies for 10 TR, there are unplanned puppies. To the words of my friend that they were most likely offered mestizos under the guise of labradors, they replied that no, there were labradors there, and that “breeder” explained to them over the phone that she litter each year with documents as a planned mating, and the second litter in the year sells without documents as from an unplanned mating. It is an amazing fact that someone admitted this, usually similar “breeders” (it’s in quotation marks by the breeders) hide such things. Now I will explain what all this means. For a female Labrador, pregnancy-childbirth-feeding is a serious burden for the body, therefore it is officially allowed to receive offspring from a dog no more than 1 time per year. However, this does not stop such dealers, and they knit their bitches every estrus, and some later get rid of dogs that can no longer give birth. Do you want to support their business? Personally, I would not have bought a puppy from them simply out of disgust … I’m not talking about how healthy the puppies will be, born to an exhausted tortured mother?
On the value of puppies and on what it consists of, many articles have been written by many breeders. It can’t be cheap that it invested a lot of money and labor! You come and see the puppies, but they themselves did not appear and grow … This was preceded by work and financial costs. A decent breeder feeds his dogs with quality food, monitors their health, does not save on veterinary services, checks their health, carefully selects suitors for breeding, trying to get beautiful and most importantly healthy dogs in the offspring! Pregnancy, childbirth, raising puppies is another story altogether when the breeder does not sleep at night and devotes his life to these little lumps for some time. Then a choice for them owners, and endless calls-questions-consultations. This is hard work, and in n…
